The introduction of the Saxellum (Val d'Erro) Cane Corso kennel's web site, needs to start with the name. The kennel is located on the shores of the river Erro and inland from Cascina della Rocca, that name is derived from its position directly above a precipice where the river below forms a clear little pond.
The FCI has recognized the kennel with the registered name: SAXELLUM, all the dogs will have that name in all the documentaion. The kennel preserves the denomination of Val d'Erro, because the history, the sacrifices, the dedication regarding the selection, as well as the world level notoriety, could not justify a different choice.
Many of you that have surfed the internet in search of the Cane Corso, will marvel at the wealth of information offered by this site. It could not have been done any differently.
The owner of the kennel, Renzo Carosio, is a central character in the world panorama of the breed. We find him, besides the role of breeder, of president of the AICC (Italian Association of Cane Corso), of judge, of breed researcher. He has conducted appreciable historical research, is the author of numerous articles published on the specialized breed magazines, as well as of texts for video cassettes and a book: "The Cane Corso".
The study on the breed that has given origin to the Standard Cane Corso 2003 done on behalf of the AICC also shows his signature. As far as the Corsos produced by the kennel, it would be useless to write about them here, all you need to do is look at the images in this site. You won't find the usual three or four Corsos that you would normally see, but about many different subjects, of superior quality, to demonstrate the job of selection and the constancy of quality of the kennel.
It's true, Val d'Erro-Saxellum's corsos are more expensive, but after having visited the site, you will find that, a Corso coming from this very prestigious line, is worth the sacrifice.
This is an invitation to access the site, to calmly navigate it, hopefully in its entirety, and thus get the possibility to gather information and to improve your knowledge of the breed, to bring forth a Cane Corso that is typical and bold as it is in your dreams.Good navigation...
